Give us a quick INTRO—who are you? Where do you live?
Hi there! We’re Elizabeth, Tanya, Cooper, and Dom, and we call Ottawa, Canada home. We're a close-knit family of outdoor enthusiasts who are passionate about mountain biking, road trips, and making the most out of every adventure together. Between the four of us, we’ve got a love for both family-friendly rides and pushing our limits on some of the most rugged trails. Ottawa is a great base for us, as it's close to so many beautiful riding spots in Quebec and Ontario, plus we love the vibrant outdoor community here. Whether we’re tackling new trails, hitting the road for a weekend getaway, or just having a chill ride at our local bike park, we’re all about creating memories and enjoying the journey. Our rig plays a huge role in that, making sure we’ve got everything we need for the ride—and we’re just getting started on the next adventure!
Give us a quick overview of your rig.
We roll in a 2024 Honda Pilot Trailsport—a rugged, all-terrain SUV that’s as versatile as our adventures. The Trailsport is built to take on both city streets and rugged off-road trails, which is perfect for our mix of activities. Whether it’s loading up for a weekend bike trip or heading out for a longer road adventure, it’s spacious enough for the whole crew, plus all the gear we need. Plus, it’s packed with tech features, so we’re always comfortable and connected on the road.
Tell us about any special modifications that make your rig stand out.
One of the standout features of our rig is the NorthShore 6 Bike Rack. We absolutely love it because it’s not only sturdy but makes loading and unloading our bikes super easy, even after a long ride. Plus, it’s super sleek and doesn’t take up unnecessary space. Another personal touch—our rig is decked out with some awesome stickers. Each one tells a story of a place we've been or a ride we've done. It’s a fun way to personalize our rig and show off our adventures.
What is the best road trip you’ve taken your rig on?
Our best road trip so far was a trip down the East Coast all the way to South Carolina. We started in Ottawa and took our time cruising through the States, stopping at some amazing spots along the way. From exploring quaint little towns to hitting up some awesome bike trails, it was an epic mix of adventure, culture, and of course, plenty of fun stops for food and relaxation. The journey was as much about the ride as the destination, and there was never a dull moment.
What would be your next dream road trip?
Our dream road trip is in the works for Summer 2025, where we’re planning to visit all the major bike parks along the East Coast. We’re talking about hitting everything from small local gems to some of the most well-known mountain biking parks in the region. We’ve got our eyes on parks in Quebec, Vermont, and New Hampshire. There’s no shortage of epic trails, so the plan is to take our time, ride hard, and experience as much of the East Coast’s best biking as possible.
How long have you had your North Shore Rack?
We’ve had our NorthShore 6 Bike Rack for about 4 months now, and we couldn’t be happier with it. It’s been a game-changer for our road trips and bike park visits. It’s super easy to install and remove, and the way it keeps our bikes secure during transit gives us peace of mind. No more worrying about bikes shifting or getting damaged, even on bumpy roads or long stretches of highway.
In your travels, what is your favorite riding location/favorite trail?
Without a doubt, Vorlage in Wakefield, Quebec is our favorite spot. It’s our local, family-friendly bike park, and we’re lucky to have it just a short drive away. The park has something for everyone—whether you're just starting out or an experienced rider looking for a challenge. We love how accessible it is, and the community there is amazing. Plus, the vibe is super laid-back, making it the perfect spot for a weekend ride with friends and family.
Coffee, beer, or tea?
Each of us has our own go-to beverage depending on the time of day. Tanya is all about coffee—it’s how she gets her day started. After a long ride, it’s all about the pool beers to unwind and kick back. We’re definitely all about balance when it comes to keeping our energy up, whether we’re gearing up for the ride or winding down afterward.
Shuttle/road trip essential tunes?
When it’s time to hit the road, our essential soundtrack is the one and only soundtrack to Dazed and Confused. It’s packed with classic tunes that perfectly capture that carefree, cruisy road trip vibe. From rock to funk, it sets the perfect mood whether we’re driving through mountains, coastlines, or just cruising along the highway. It’s our go-to playlist for every shuttle ride or long road trip!
